Get to know Kari

Travel has been woven into Kari’s life from an early age. Growing up in Papua New Guinea exposed her to a diverse mix of cultures, traditions, and experiences, sparking a lifelong curiosity about the world and the people who inhabit it.

Kari’s adventurous spirit led her overseas. She spent two winters living in Queenstown, New Zealand, followed by another two winters in Scotland, embracing every opportunity to explore new destinations, cultures, and experiences along the way.

Kari’s career in travel began in Aberdeen, Scotland, where she worked with students planning gap year adventures across the globe. Helping young travellers take their first steps into the world reinforced her belief in the transformative power of travel and the lasting impact it can have on people’s lives.

 

In 2008, Kari and her husband made the move to the Gold Coast in search of sunshine and a new chapter. She continued her career in travel, spending more than a decade as a travel consultant across both the UK and Australia, helping clients plan everything from dream holidays to once-in-a-lifetime adventures.

These years gave her extensive industry knowledge, a deep understanding of the travel planning process, and a genuine appreciation for the importance of exceptional customer service.

After welcoming her second child, Kari transitioned into a support role with Chirn Park Travel, allowing her to combine her passion for travel with the flexibility of family life while continuing to draw on her years of industry experience.

As a key member of the Chirn Park Travel team, Kari combines over a decade of frontline travel consulting experience with a behind-the-scenes support role, helping advisors deliver exceptional service to their clients.

Her strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and extensive industry experience provide valuable support to both advisors and clients alike.

While much of her work happens behind the scenes, Kari enjoys being part of the collaborative team effort that helps create exceptional travel experiences for clients every day.

These days, some of Kari’s greatest travel experiences come from seeing the world through her children’s eyes. Sharing new cultures, destinations, and experiences as a family has deepened her appreciation not only for the diversity of the world, but also for the opportunities and lifestyle that make Australia such a wonderful place to call home.

Having lived across four countries, Kari has developed a genuine appreciation for different cultures, communities, and the personal growth that travel can inspire.

She believes the most rewarding journeys are the ones that leave travellers with stories to tell, a broader understanding of the world, and a desire to keep exploring.
